Need help choosing summer top!
Been loooking for a while, but looks can be deceiving. I am hoping someone has a top that serves the purposes that I need. I don't want a full soft top, I am looking for something along the idea of a bikini top. I would like to be able to take the top off once this summer and not put it back on until the winter.
I would like a top that can easily be taken on and off, but also will keep the interior dry when it rains. That is the only criteria I have, so someone please tell me that you have something along these lines!!! The thinking (which I am sure a lot of us think the same way) is that on the days that there is "a chance of rain" I could throw the "new top" on while I am at work and I don't have to worry about the interior getting soaked.
I currently have the 3 piece freedom hard top by the way.
Thanks for any help or advice you all can provide!!

I have a best top bikini top with the header channel that I'm looking to sell. Let me know if you're interested.
I was in the same boat a couple years ago. Had the hard top but wanted to take it off for the whole summer. Unfortunately the bikini top isn't water proof by any means. And it rains almost every day in the summer here in Colorado. Bikini tops serve best as sun shades. If I lived in so-cal it would be the only top I'd ever run.

I have the Bestop bikini top. The safari top (longer than a bikini)would give some protection over the back, and less rain would get to the front. Especially if you add the windjammer thingy to it that goes behind the front seats. But I have a factory soft top. With your hard top, you can put on just the two front panels and maybe a windjammer would keep rain from coming in from behind.

I have the Best top safari top. It takes about 5 minutes to put on and far less to take off. It does leak a little when sitting in heavy rains, I live in Florida, but only on the passenger side. I like the top and its a jeep so the leak doesn't bother me.

This is the Mopar Sunbonnet (which is equivalent, I'll even argue better than,
the Bestop Safari Top) and Windjammer. On the Unlimiteds, both have the
problem that they don't seal up the rear. And, if you don't own the softtop
door frames, they also leave a large gap between the top of the full doors and
the roll bar ...
Some folks have used a two-door Wraparound Windjammer (there are
Windjammers and Wraparound Windjammers and they are NOT the same) on
their four door Jeeps (there isn't a four door Wraparound Windjammer). With
door rails and a Duster, they claim essentially that they are waterproof in the
cab. Here is RescueX's, which he took to an upholstery shop and had modified
to fit his four door (some folks just stretch the basic item and force it to fit a
four door) ...
There are other products you should research. Bestop makes the Trektop.
And there's also an emergency top--basically you run around top off, but have
this to quickly put on should rain come around. And, there's just the stock
softtop. You can remove the windows and, if you want, roll up the sail panels
to give it a safari top look. You should be able to find an almost new one here
on the forum for around $500.

being in Texas, look into a mesh top
I have ran the Bestop for the past 2 years, and have just purchased the Dirty Dog
you will be much cooler than running with the top off, or with a solid bikini/safari
get a cab cover for when you are parked in the rain, and learn to like driving in the rain
BTW come out to Hard 8 in Coppell the first Wendsday of the month and check out the top options in person
