Need a definite, correct answer for transfer case swapping.
I keep reading on here that the output shaft from the NSG370 and 42RLE transmissions are different, yet a few well known websites (from transfer case manufacturers) state that BOTH transmissions have 23-spline output shafts.
So, my question is, can a Rubicon NVG241OR transfer case, whether it came from a manual transmission or an automatic transmission Rubicon, be swapped into an X/Sahara, with either transmission?

From what I've read, both transmissions are 23-spline outputs. However, the NSG370's outshaft sticks out about 1/2" further. I want to know if the input on the transfer case has a 1/2" difference of "acceptance" due to the transmission selection.

No Idea if this will help. But here are some pictures of transfercases from my jeep. They are both from automatics. Maybe these pictures can provide an Idea for you.

The answer is NO.
If you have a manual transmission than you have to source a manual rubi tcase if auto than you have to for auto rubi tcase.
The cases are exactly the same is size but output shafts are different.
Thats why there are different part numbers for Rubi rocktrac tcase.
