Need a better way to grease zerks
With my full traction kit i have to occasionally grease it up
not really a problem
some of the zerks are in somewhat confined places
again not really a problem
the problem is i cannot get my grease gun tight on some of the zerks
this is maily due to the fact that in order to tighten the nossle i have to twist the collar. Mix that in with a greasy collar and in a tight spot and i cant get the job done.
So i am wondering if there are better nossles out there
im thinking something like what air tools use. You pull the collar back and connect the tool and release collar and its on tightdoes such things exist

zerk problem
Have you considered trying a different grease zerk? If they are straight zerks, try a 90 or 45 degree replacement (that is the same thread pitch). Being carefull to to make sure that there won't be any interference issues (they don't rub on something, or get sheared off). Just a suggestion.....

Re: Need a better way to grease zerks
U might try a new grease gun tip. The pieces inside to lock on are prob done. It should stay on while u pump and not pop off..

greasing problem
Maybe I misunderstood your problem. It sounds like your grease gun tip is too loose. When you pump grease into the fitting (zerk) does it come out everywhere instead of going into the fitting? And are you loosening up the tip on your grease gun THEN putting the tip of the gun onto the zerk and trying to tighten it before pumping the gun? If that is the case, try tightening the tip of the gun so that when you put it onto the zerk you will feel a "pop" when the tip is fully engaged onto the zerk. DON'T over tighten the tip. Just make it tight enough that it takes a little (key word) effort to couple the tip and the zerk. Like I said earlier, you should feel a slight "pop" when the tip of the grease gun goes over the shoulder (ball end) of the zerk. THEN pump your grease. I hope this makes sense.
