that is one serious lift. please share your pics with the Iroks.

I am very curious to see what the 2.5" lift will do to my JK. I have a strong hunch that I will be dissappointed and want to go bigger. I have driven my brother in laws truck around with 18" lift and 40's. Just wonder how it drives in a JK. Might go lower with the coil package as described by GCM 2. Looks like those baja trucks

I forgot that I had this comparison photo of my JK next to a friends. He his running a Teraflex 2.5"(I think) lift with stock Rubicon wheels and tires. So you can get an idea of the difference in builds. Also, because I am running coilovers, I can raise or lower the ride height of my jeep very easily. I have the ride height set at 81" from ground to top of the roof because my garage is 82" high. I have about two or three inches left to go lower on the coils or about 10" to go in the up direction. Very expensive set up, but the most adjustable for height and suspension compression or rebound. Rides like a dream.

LOL yours make the other one look puny! I asked the sales guy if 10K to 13K would get me what I needed and he said that is plenty. Is that close to what you have in your suspension setup or lets say your buddy with the green jk and 40" Mud Grapplers?

Headed to pick up my JK......

any vehicle registered in nj with modification (greater than 4" to the height at the base of the driver's side door) to suspension/body lift needs a "high rise" vehicle inspection.

there are three classifications that are based on weight for noncommercial vehicles:
a) Maximum lift up to GVWR 4500 lbs is 7" above OE vehicle height.
b) Maximum lift between GVWR 4501 - 7500 lbs is. 9" above OE height.
c) Maximum lift between GVWR 7501 - 10,000 lbs is 11" above OE height.
(all are the height at the base of the driver's side door)

there is also a max tire size in jersey...38" or 6" greater than the stock tire size (which ever one comes first)

liftlaws dot com has all the states laws detailed for offroad vehicles pretty good.

You need to consider the cost,,,
I've looked into doing this myself
I've been quoted with a $20,000 tag for doing this the right way

On my JK that price range will get you just the suspension and it installed. Now start saving for tires, wheels, axles, drive shafts, ram assist steering, ram assist steering cooler, trans cooler, flat flares.......

The 10-13k is MORE than enough for what my buddy is running, his is just running a Teraflex 2.5", very affordable. He's also running stock wheels and tires in that photo.
