Matthew, I have kids and a frugal wife. I have to be smart about what I pursue so this lift, fender and tire plans is awesome.
I ruined my wife's Dave Ramsey no debt plan to buy the JK. She's trusting me a lot here.

Humidity is HORRIBLE! 10 day forecast shows chance of rain every day so taking the top off is risky. They pop up...like literally I watch the radar and they just grow over certain areas. Yesterday the storms even moved east to west after popping up! Sometimes it's raining at home and sunny at work 5 miles away. They're stinking heavy storms too!
Good luck camping! Champaign is pretty north of me, but they usually get more precipitation.

I am not camping, I am from the Champaign area and still have a house there for sale. Just going back to make a couple improvements to the house to try and help it sell. Sounds like typical midwest weather there. Its one of the reasons I moved out West.

Great info! Thanks for sharing. I want to run 33"s, and I get info all over the spectrum about what lift I need. I read an article, somewhere, stating what you said, about how most people don't need nearly the lift some say to be very off road capable. Now I just wish I could find a good answer to the !6" wheel question on a 2012

33's and a 1.5" Rock Crawler triple rate coil lift gives plenty of off road capability and nice and low.

Thanks. Looks great, but according to their website, 1.5" is for a JKU. It lifts a JK 2.5"

Thanks for this very informative post! I am new to this Forum but have been a part of other forums for about 7 years now for my motorcycle.

anyways, I just bought my first Jeep JK Unlimited Sport last month and I wanna put bigger tires on than what I have stock. I'm looking at 35" tires because I want it to be a noticeable difference. I basically will use this Jeep as a Daily Driver as well as Off Roading a few times a year at least to start with. I Wanna lift it too but I don't know if that is totally necessary and if it is, I wanna do it right and not re-do it after it's done. That's why I am researching now.

My Goal:
-Bigger Overall Look (including tires and maybe a 2"-3" lift.)

-I love the look when the tires stick out a little bit wider than the body and fenders do.
How is this achieved?

-I wanna keep a smooth ride (close to stock or better) since I use this vehicle for travel to work 15 miles highway one way.

-I will get Front & Back Bumpers with Tire Carrier & a winch but that's a different thread.

Anybody with good information and suggestions I would greatly appreciate your input and opinions! Can DM me if you'd like to as well! thanks!!!

Also, MC is conservative in their ratings. You'll likely get more than the rated 1.5 or 2.5" of lift even if your jeep is burdened with standard accoutrement of steel accessories.
