Default My secure trunk lid build

I decide to try my hand at buidling a trunk lid for my JKU. I was motivated to make it secure because I have to carry work equipment back and forth to work and was cnstantly worrying that it would get stolen out of my soft top every time I stopped to grab milk for the kids. I started by making brackets for it to sit on that rest on the deck lid of the rear. Click image for larger version

ID:	400601 and these two pieces sit back into the lid. I insterted bolt through the top to bolt everything together and spot welded them so they can never be removed. All of the nuts go on the inside, so with the tailgate closed and secured no one can possibly get into this thing. For those who are going to ask, it is not 100% water proof. But, I would estimate that it is probably 95% water proof. I would have no problem leaving my computer in my backpack in the trunk on a rainy day. If it gets any water into the trunk are it will be a few drops at most. When I was all done I bedlined it with Raptor liner. Click image for larger version
