My friend is upgrading to 35s, Need advice!!
My friend has a 4 door jk and he plans on upgrading to 35 tires and a lift. It's also has an automatic trans. We were making a list of things to do and came up with this:
35 in wheels
stock rims
3 or 4 in lift
4.88 or 5.13 gears
extended brake line ?
new steering pump ?
new brake master cylinder ?
new brake discs and calipers?
drvie shafts?
35 in wheels
stock rims
3 or 4 in lift
4.88 or 5.13 gears
extended brake line ?
new steering pump ?
new brake master cylinder ?
new brake discs and calipers?
drvie shafts?

depending on which lift you get: front/rear adj track bars, adj front lower control arms, extended sway bar links, bumpstops.
1.5" wheel spacers for stock rims.
rear bumper and tire carrier for heavier spare.

Depending on what he's trying to achieve there are other ways to do this. I'm running 35" tires (aftermarket wheels) on my Unlimited Rubicon with just a Rough Country 1.25" body lift and flat fenders. I converted my front bumper to a stubby and trimmed my rock rails and pinch seam and I have no rub, even at full flex with the swaybar disconnected.
With this setup I still have good articulation, a relatively low center of gravity and no driveline or suspension geometry concerns.

You and your friend should both spend a little time in the FAQ's.
Read about wheel backspacing, and lift height vs tire size, and the recommended components for various lift heights, (and what he will need if/when he replaces a driveshaft),
For 35's, he shouldn't need to mess with brakes or steering boxes.

With that lift and 35's, you will also need wheel spacers if you keep the stock wheels. Like posted before, review th FAQ area, it actually has a ton of information all in one spot.

Cool thanks for the help guys. We'll def check out the faq section tomorrow once I see him so he can figure out what he really wants to do with his rig and I can draw a plan out for mine. And that's back at the project jk site right?
