Default My bad Olympic 4x4 Products experience

I recently bought a Olympic Rock bumper with Tuff N EZ tire carrier. I bought it for 2 reasons, the price and the claim that all of their products are made in USA.

My experience left much to be desired.

I waited 5 weeks for the bumper\tire carrier to come. I understand sometimes things take a little while to be produced and shipped. I did not expect to get my items without the proper hardware or instructions to install them.

I contacted Olympic on 5/6 about the missing hardware and improper instructions. They seemed very helpful, and said they knew that they had not included some hardware and would overnight it to me. Um, why ship it without all the hardware?

I then contacted Olympic again twice on 5/10. First, to see if the hardware had been sent and then to see if they could email me better instructions. I then spoke to a guy who was supposed to be a product specialist, and explained to him that the bumper was not the same as the one in the instructions, it had been changed. He assured me the proper hardware was there to install the bumper. I tried to explain that the bumper was not the same as the one in the instructions, and he sounded as if he did not know that the bumper had been changed.

I then tried to install the bumper and carrier Saturday morning (5\11), figuring I could add the dampener when the hardware came. I tried to put the bumper on, but had no big bolts (they turned out to be 7/8th that a 1 1/8 socket fit on.) Also, there was no hardware to connect the bottom of the bumper to the frame rail. So, I had to make a trip to the hardware store and get the bolts, nuts, and washers to put the bumper on. It was only about 10 bucks for the hardware, but that is not the point.

Today, 5/14, my wife called Olympic to complain, and they hung up on her. They also just say hello when they answer the phone, not Olympic 4x4 or anything like that.

Not the best way to get repeat customers if you ask me. Since I am a member of just about every Jeep forum out there, as well as several local to Northeast Ohio, I will be posting my experience on all of these forums, warning folks not to do business with Olympic 4x4 Products.

Oh, by the way, it is now a week later and I still don't have that hardware.
