Muffler options.
I want to have the the stock muffler replaced since I am getting new rear bumper and it just look God awful.
I wanting to stay away from the small bullet/glass pack/cherry bomb stuff.
I would like to replace just the stock muffler with a smaller one, gain some clearance, and get a deep nice tone that's not to terribly loud but throaty.
And please no cat back kits, I'm have this made, so just a muffler please.

I think you have a few options depending on how much work you want to do. The easiest is removing the stock muffler and placing a dynomax vt muffler in its place. This is slightly louder than stock and you can tuck it a lot farther than stock. I had this setup for a while and eventually wanted a little more rumble. I bought a dynomax round muffler and cut into the stock exhaust pipes that run along the drivers side of the jeep. I clamped it on and with a couple of generic muffler pieces from auto zone I made this work. More rumble and no drone. Not obnoxious at all. Both setups ran me about $100-120 each.

And yes, you can just thoroughly clean it, then brush or spray it with mat black high temp' stove paint to make it pretty much disappear.

For knowledge the PN on the muffler is 17263 this is our 2.5" I/O round Ultra Flo Welded stainless steel muffler.
It has an overall length of 20".

This is what i went with. It is deep. But louder than i anticipated. It makes the 3.6 sound pretty tough. Not like a Honda Civic at all. But loud.
