Duratracs are AT, not MT.

My favorite is Goodyear MTR/K. Great for wheeling on rocks.

I also like the Toyo and Nitto. Though the Nitto are one of the heaviest tires.

Not a fan of the BFG. In the last year and a half of wheeling, the only flat tires I've seen were BFG KM2's. Seems like the Duratracs have less flats which should be the opposite. I had 2 friends that switched from the KM2 to the GY MTR/K. Both said the MTR/K is much smoother on the road. Plus, the KM2 run really small. If you want a 35" get a 36 or 37".

I LOVED the OLD Goodyear MT/R (before kevlar) once they discontinued that I went with Procomp mud terrain tires..... BEST M/T tire I EVER RAN!

(Ran the procomps on my 99 Ram currently I run Goodyear Duratrac tires and LOVE them! Great in thick pine barrens mud!)

The choice is urs buddy! There are SOOO many great mud tire choices out there! Happy shopping!

And yes I know my duratracs are A/T not M/T.......

That's a bit nit picky. The sidewalls aren't treaded like most mud tires but the tread is just as aggressive as some. All I'm saying is that they go everywhere the Nittos do.

You're bound to get 100 different answers. To confuse you more, I'll add my tires. Cooper Discoverer STT's. They treat the thick, red Oklahoma mud like it's flat concrete. I get right through anything with no problems and 100% confidence. Moderately quiet on the road, louder than A/T's, but very quiet compared to Mud Grapplers.

I paid just under $1,100 total for 5 on treaddepot.com for 33x12.5x15.

Yeah the Nittos and some of the others mentioned are aggressive mixed use offroad tires, and they do really well in a lot of terrain types. A real mud tire is a Super Swamper Bogger, TSL, or something else not suited for running kids to the mall. Most guys run a compromise tire.

Procomp mud extremes for me. I bought my first set because 4 Wheel Parts was having a buy 3 get 1 free. Expected to get what I paid for... but they ended up lasting over 40,000 miles and still had tread. Ended up going with another set (again 4 for prices of 3) and these too are really tough. I just rotate every 4K miles. And they have a pretty aggressive sidewall. Nice look is a bonus.

I agree. Cooper stt's are a great tire. I love my 285/75/16's

It's really apples and oranges. AT and MT are different classes. I know people love their duratracs, but it's an AT. 2 ply side wall (vs 10 ply on many MT) and tread pattern is less aggressive, not as good in mud compared to most MT.
