Default MTR/K's w' Black Rock Viper 900 series, Black

Just got some 35" MTR/K's with 17" Black Rock 900 series wheels. Really like the look and feel of the set up. The center caps of the wheels are a little loose but I think I can add a little electrical tape to the base to keep them tight. I bought the AEV Procal which seems to help out alot. I flew over the Altamont pass in the Nor Cal bay area today with little effort at 80+ mph. Light load and low elevation, I'm sure it will be a bit more sluggish in the Sierra Nevada Passes with a full load.

Question: If i go up from 4.10 gears should I only go 5.13 or 5.38? It's a daily driver but fully loaded in the mountains. Click image for larger version

jeez thanks a lot. Just thought i settled on keeping my stock 18s in lieu of getting the 900b.........dang it! That is a dead sexy wheel. What is the stamped tire size on those mtr's? what is the actual installed size on that wheel?

The tire lists 35X12.5R17. I measured 34.75 when calibrating the pro cal. I haven't checked the wheel but I assume it's the stated 17".

yeah, the 34.75 is the number I was looking for. I knew the wheel size. I wish they made it in a 16... Looks good!

With the 5.13 gear ratio installed, you will get more power performance.

The gear ratio I like is the 4.88. It is just a little more RPM then stock but it does feel better. I didn’t want to go with 5.13 because I do a lot of driving on the freeways. I am very happy with the 4.88.

Thanks and love the Forum,
Nice set up.
I have the same wheels in order for the center caps not to move we had to remove all the clips on each bolt (the ones that hold the discs).

I would go with 4.88 gear at highest unless it's auto? But even then 5.13 are a little low geared IMO.

For an automatic JKU with ~35" tires that lives in the mountains I absolutely would go with 5.38's.

Your Jeep looks great!
