welcome to the club, the MTR K's were bad for me as well. I dumped them for KM2's, much happier.

THANK YOU!!!!!

I was minutes away from ordering 5 of the 38" tires and then saw this thread and then this post...I'll stick with my BFG Krawlers.

You need to find someone who knows how to balance them. There is a place in Columbus, that trues the tire and balances them while on the vehicle, which is essentially road force balance. They were the only ones who could balance my mtrs. Folks from Atlanta come down to have their tires balanced here. Those tires will not balance on the bubble balancer. Find someone with a hunter machine. One thing that I have noticed is if your rig is very heavy they are not good tires. The service description on the 35s are bad, not too sure on the 38s. The lighter I was, the better they ran. I have since gone to nittos and will never go back to MTRs.

My 35's were always doing shit like this and wore out horribly quick, even with constant watch. My 37's no problems at all balanced right away and stayed that way.

I have 37x12.50 17 with about 3K miles and so far no problems. They worked great in Moab.

I've been set on buying these tires for awhile. I thought they were the best and some of the cheaper mt compared to bfg. Does any one know if the 33" mtr have the balancing issues?

Mine suck too. Bought five of them. One of them wouldn't hold air because of a thin spot in the side wall that blew out as soon as it was inflated. Had my front left do the same thing going down the highway two weeks ago. Now they are on backorder and I don't have a spare tire. My jeep is my DD as well. Hard as hell to balance, two of mine took probably 20+ of the stick on weights. And on top of that they caused my alignment to be waay off. If you take your hand off the steering wheel on the highway you the jeep instantly tried to steer itself off the highway. Worst product I've ever purchached for any of my vehicles hands down!

Toyo mt's and trail grapplers are essentially the same tire. Both are very round tires and are very easy to balance. Some actually get by not balancing them at all if that tells you anything
