Default MTR /k directional mounting

When I bought my MTRs, they had white lettering, so I had them mounted with the black out. After a few hundred miles I discovered that there is a inner and outer mounting direction to follow. Mine are opposite from what they should be. What is the reason for this? If it's that they want the larger outer lugs to the outside for mud cleaning, I'll run them the way they are, as I don't do mud. Is there another reason for the outside to be outside?

The tires are designed with an inside and outside tread. My opnion would be to get them remounted properly.

X2 I would listen to GOODYEAR. its probably a little more complicated then to just clear mud.

that is also the only thing I don't like about the MTR. its not directional but apears to be and when they are mounted properly the lugs on one side are facing oposite to the other side but then again I'm not GOODYEAR and I'm sure its ok but just my opinion.

What's the reason for the inside & outside mounting? On the rear there is no way for the tire to know whether the outside is outside or inside. There must be a reason, unless it is just to through mud to the outside of the vehicle. I'd rather not have the dorky white lettering on the outside ynless there is a structual reason for it.

They are Asymmetrical tires and have to be run with the proper side out.
I would suspect that you would not get the wear or performance that you should get if they are not mounted properly.

If white letters are such a big deal you should have looked into it first. I like white letters but it would never be a deciding factor on weather or not I get the tire

And most of all what shop put the tires on the wrong way!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I should have looked into it better, but 4wheelparts should have corrected me when I asked for black side out if it is important to the integtety of the tire. I also think white letters look good on some rigs, but on my Jeep they get scuffed on the rocks and the white letters wouldn't be white very long. That wouldn't look good. Being symetrical, they can and do roll either direction. Guess I'll have to contact Good Year to find out.

If the tread design is different on one side than the other, wouldn't that constitute Asymmetric, or am I missing something? Symmetric would be if the design was the same on both sides of the tire.
