Mpg loss with 35s/mud tires
#11
i averaged 19-21 stock (3.21 6 speed 3.8), i put my 35s on a couple days ago, filled up twice since then, 1 was out on the desert climbing lava flows and going through mud pits, its a 110 mile drive round trip with the playing, lots of 4 low and like my boy johnathan jk said, lots of clutch action needed on anything remotely incline, 13.2 mpg. filled back up, did my normal running around town and jumped on the freeway and drove to the closest town 84 miles round trip did some more running around town filled back up 16.4 mpg. I have cooper discoverer stt 35x12.15 on cragar soft 8s not sure the weight difference between that and nittos with whatever wheel you are looking at

I run 35's, 4.1 with 6 speed manual and average 16-18mpg on my JKU 2012. Also live where the roads are not flat, nice even pavement. Better than the 07 got and it ran 35's. I also get into 6th gear

When i first bought my jeep I drove on a 4 hour drive home and got 16.7 mpg( I have a 2013 sahara with 3.73's) now with 35's I just drove to portland and got 16.3. Im on nitto trail grapplers. around town mix getting 15-16. trip to portland was b4 procal. Ive picked up about 1-1.5 mpg with procal so when a month or two when i go back to portland I see what i get then.

I'm running 35's on 3.73's and The new 3.6L engine and I'm seriously thinking about re-gearing. I'm still getting 17-20 MPG on the road its all in driving habits. I cant Imagine being on a steep hill at a light with 35's and 3.21's your going to be dogging that thing and burning the clutch up bad.
To me acceleration and the ability to drive up angles above 15 degrees is a big deal to me you slap 35's on a 3.21 you are seriously putting unnecessary strain on your engine and drivetrain components.
Just do the right thing and re-gear you will be happier in the long term.
If your a mall crawler then slap them on and Rock on. That seems to be the thing to do in my town.
