Mpg

Are you guys going off the Jeep's computer?
On my trip back from Moab, mine read almost 23 mpg. 33s/4:10/Auto/2" lift/CAI/XS mode/70mph. Climbed 2, 10K passes.
Not sure how much I believe that number though.

No WAY
I find that hard to believe. What year/model Jeep do you have?
I have been fighting this MPG battle for a year now. After exhausting every possible option short of a regear for months, I have mine getting almost 18.2MPG on the highway (up from 13.5). You better double check the name on the hood if you're getting 23 because it isn't a Jeep partner.

Computer is not likely accurate. I calculate it based on mileage and how much gas I put in my tank for said mileage.

Yeah that's why I said "Do the math"
For those that don't know what this means--
1. Fill your tank. (full)
2. Record OD reading or zero trip meter.
3. Drive until you need fuel again.
4. Fill tank again. (full)
5. Take total miles travelled and divide by gallons used.
For instance last trip total distance was 251.9 miles and I used 14.869 gallons, 251.9 / 14.869 = 17.019 MPG
Also note I run synthetic oil in motor and will switch over all cases and diffs to it as soon as needed. I did see a slight increase in mileage after about 3500 miles as motor broke in.
But what 23? jeez I would love to get that. Hard to believe as I just took off the factory Rubi. 32"s and best I ever got was 19 on I-5 south of Redding in that big open, flat, boring valley.
I drive 70 also and not much faster. Very true about the big drop off in MPG if you are running over that. Also I like to buy Jeep parts, not pay tickets.

i can get my AVERAGE mileage down to 11L per 100km which is about 21.5 mpg.
that said i could probably get down to 10l per 100km, (23.5 mpg) if i were only driving hwy kms
theres a lot of babying the throttle involved in achieving these figures tho, shifting before 1700rpm and staying around 90-95kmh (55mph) -backroads
anything faster than that and avg mileage starts to trickle north
good luck!

I rarely got over 75 mph. Mainly 70. And like I said, had 2 monster passes I had to climb. Had to drop down into 2nd gear and climb around 45 MPH, keeping RPMs max @4K.
I also ran the numbers manually, and was within 1mpg.

2014 JKUR, 34" Duratracs, 3.5" lift, 4.10, 3.6 Auto
16-18.5 mpg calculated on the highway depending on speeds. Normally 17-18mpg in the 55-65mph range, 16-17mpg in the 70-80mpg range.
Alot of other factors come into play. driving style, flat area vs hilly, temp, wind, etc.....
