Mpg??

15 seems a little low. Was your 2-door modded kinda like this one.....same gear ratio and all? The weight of your tire and wheel combo can play a factor. I didn't notice much of a difference in mileage when I went to a 2.5" lift and 35's, but mine has 4:10 gears and a 6-speed. My wheels are lighter than stock and the tires, even though they're bigger, were the lightest 35's I could find.

Not sure what stock gears mean, but you may be comparing apples to oranges. Have you tried playing with your tire pressure? I squeezed 1mpg going from 30 psi to 35.....it ain't much, but with the miles I drive, anything is welcome.

What's the difference in your tires between the two models? You're surely aware that the aggressive pattern of the crushers will not yield the same mileage as something like the bfg at even on a similarly equipped vehicle.
Increase your tire pressure for the long trips, put on tires with lower rolling resistance, reduce unnecessary gear, and draft people. You should be able to get a little better than 15 at those speeds but you're certainly not increasing your mileage by running quicker.

This may make you feel a little better...
I have a 2007 2Dr X with 285/75/16 and a 3.21 gear ratio. I average hand calculated 14.5-16.5 mpg; this is without a speedometer correction or Procal. I was on my way back from the beach solo last week and was bored so I was curious how far off my actual mileage was. For every 10 miles I traveled my odometer read 9 miles. Thats a 10% difference...so lets go with an average of 15mpg in my case, I am actually getting 16.5mpg. Hope this helps, use a GPS to see how big of a difference your odometer is reading, you should be getting better mpg than me with the 3.6.

I get about 14.5-15mpg average.. If I set it on cruise control doing highway driving, I can get in the high 16mpg range.. I'm running 35's using Superchips 87 octane tune.. Wish it would be a little better BUT it's a Jeep!!

I can run 70-75 on the interstate & get around 16mpg. If I go 55-60 I can get 17-18mpg. I have a 2008 With 35s, 5.13 gears, Superchips 93 octane, Airid CAI, and complete Poison Spyder Armour. Around town I average 14-15mpg. I do way better if I use non ethanol fuel at 93 octane. This is all done with a GPS & on pretty flat land over the past year.

285-70-17 at 32 psi no lift running 87 on stock JKU. I do about 80mph on hw for 10 miles, then town driving for 20 miles one way to work and average 15-16 mpg. If I stay under 75 its 16-17 and the slower hw speed the better mpg.
