After market exhaust or a CAI will help a little. I have both and get 16mpg but I drive 75-80mph so I'm not helping my cause.

The answer is no.

You have to re-gear to get close to where you were with factory sized tires.

Everything else is a waste of money IMO.

you have an auto or stick? If stick with 3.73 or 4.10 are ok,but an auto with the same you need to re-gear to bring your rpm's back to stock. After that use a programmer for fine tuning

So what do you think going to happen if you regear? You gonna run higher rpm in 6th. Please tell me why are you in 6th gear with your stock gears?

Same happened to me with my '11 with 6spd...slapped on 35s w/3.21's.. mpg dropped huge...
I re-geared to 4.88s and now I average between 16 and 17mpgs with mixed city/hwy driving 45+ miles everyday

I have an '09 JKUR with an automatic transmission. I'm getting 16-17mpg on the highway and 14mpg around town. My engine and exhaust are all stock, gears are stock 4:10's, no CAI, no programmers other than a ProCal. Just weighed my Jeep the other day an I'm carrying an extra 600 lbs in aftermarket weight, lol. My Jeep weighs 5225 lbs total. You can see my complete mods list below.

Just a FYI for those looking to install stuff to help with gas mileage...
If you want to retain any kind of warranty, just be careful what you install on your Jeep.
Here is what one of the service techs in my area had to say regarding CAI and programmers...

"We can void if we see fit, even when returned to stock theres tell tales that a programmer was installed like mileage and vin mis matchs in different modules etc,
although rare we do see some cai that cause long term engine failure due to more dust injested into the engine...."

Specifically, this refers to programmers that alter the vehicle's horsepower and performance beyond the factory specs. Once you go beyond those factory specs, they can void your warranty if their is damage found as a result. That's the first thing they look at as causing potential problems is all the aftermarket stuff. The ProCal is more of just a recalibration unit so it does not really affect the engine.
