personally i would go with the oil pan first

in my experience with my JK the very first mod i did was to get the EVO three piece skid plate package

but you can just buy the oil pan skid separately

rock rails are great but unless your wheeling really hard i'd still lean more to the oil pan

Check out www.shrockworks.com too for sliders. Love mine and they took a major beating in Ouachita with just some scratches.

Matthew, Is this the skid plate package you were talking about?

EVO: Bumper/Armor/Skids, ProTeK Skid System for Jeep JK Wranglers (years 2012 and up)

There's not much info on the site, is it thick metal?

Oil pan... First time I went to rausch creek with my oil plan skid in my rubi with and rear armor. Came back to find a nice ding and many scratches right below the pan. Could if been the pan if no skid
