I agree with everyone's comments. Would have been a lot easier if Jeep had put a longer stroke in that Pentastar and made it rev maximum to 4500 as a 4.2 or 4.3 liter. Would have been a killer setup - but no they cheaped out and stuck a car motor in a 4400lb vehicle.

I like the lite brite guys (and especially the girl), and they’re finally running my tires, but boy, it’s nice to have sponsors. Did you see the post they did on the turbo that blew up their engine? Apparently they had been having problems for months. Also, they have a p****y automatic. I need to figure out how to do an emissions compliant swap with a manual (at least PA emissions compliant). Many have done the automatic, can’t find a successful manual swap.

I posted about my 392 hemi with a manual transmission. Look for "Manual Transmission 392 Hemi Swap in a 2008 JKU" under member builds. I probably put the build in the wrong spot under the forum, but I tried to document everything as best I could. Its emissions compliant in Virginia.
The manual transmission is hands down the way to go. So much more fun to drive.
I am selling mine, just to move on to other projects.

Does VA require OBD2 screening? My concern is specifically this test. I would keep all the emissions equipment and I feel like the newer engine is likely to burn as clean or cleaner than the aging 3.6.
message me privately. I might be interested in your jeep.
