Mods (and other implications) for towing 4300lbs?

All of the things that have been mentioned play into why the JK is not a tow rig. The engine is far too underpowered, the transmission is weak, the gearing is too high, the brakes suck, it's about the most unaerodynamic vehicle you could possibly design... I can't stand the JK's performance on the highway as it is. You can modify a JK all day long, but towing 4,300 pounds is still in my mind.
The Liberty is rated to tow 5,000 pounds because the torque curve of the 3.7L is much more suited for towing. The early Libertys also had the same transmission as the Dodge Ram (long live the 45RFE!). In a pulling contest, a Liberty would pull a JK all over town. Sad, huh?
