Modification you regret. What do you wish you didn't do today?

With all the threads on what did you do to your Jeep today? I thought a central location for all the mods we regret would also offer some insight for others in their builds. For myself the biggest regret was not having a clear enough end goal for my Jeep, impatience. Since getting parts can be a huge PITA in Canada. Settling for choice #2 when a wait of 2-3 months would have saved money and aggravation in the long run, when you buy twice, install twice and then screw around trying to sell the parts. 2nd regret getting scared off by all the nay sayers not getting 35's out of the gate. With the 2012 the power is fine. 3rd regret is the weight i am at 6000 lbs with no passengers, the armour, recovery gear, tools and equipment add up quick. But they saved my ass on numerable occasions(especially on Escalator). However, if I did it again I might try to mitigate the weight with more aluminum. Up here we have lots of rock, and trees trees trees anyone with experience with aluminum armour feel/and or bumpers free to chime in. Longevity etc. Thanks, looking forward to hearing of others experience.

In response to question about my gearing. My Jeep is a 2012 JK8 Rubicon 3.73 gears, auto with 35in Duratracs. Fine on highway, offroad I am mostly in 4L, works for me . Just finished a 14000km/9000mile roadtrip from Victoria,BC to Victoria, TX. Avoided freeways for all except about 300 miles. No complaints on the highways in the mountains. Jeep was happy offroad in Oregon Dunes NRA, Death Valley, Moab, Big Bend and through the trees and rocks on Vancouver Island. That being said f#cked up not getting 4.10 originally- but I don't feel underpowered. Can't see justifying new gears-yet.Time will tell.

For me, the opposite. I replaced axles, gears, lockers, whole drivetrain so Rubi extra cost was a waste. Heck, I didn't even save the hood stickers! I did get some extra $ for the used D 44's though.
Also bought new off the lot with a dealer installed Mopar lift. That was replaced within a year. As were the dealer installed 34" tires. Total waste. Start with the simplest and build from there.

Nothing yet, I've been taking the slow, cautious, steady route. Save money for an extra 6 months to afford the "good stuff" and it's been working out... Also gives me a ton of time to research and compare before buying.
I was so close to cheaping out on a rough country lift. GLAD I DIDNT!

Muffler. First I bought a Dynomax VT and it sounded like a ricer. Then I went with Flowmaster Turbo. I don't remember the model. Again, too loud and ricey for this old timer. So...Almost $400 later still got a noisy muffler. I just want a muffler that will give me some soft mellow sound.
