Default Mirrors/ Blind Spots

I have a 08 unlimited with a 4.5 long arm lift and a 37" tire mounted on my back door blocking my rear view mirror. I can not see anything behind me. Today, I backed up into a car and on top of there hood not even knowing they were there....fortunately there was no damage to my car...but the little chevy wasn't so fortunate. Any suggestions on reducing blind spots/ being able to see behind you?

Check out whats behind as you approach your vehicle.
If not alone, have a spotter.
Install a back-up camera.
