without the addition of a winch and bumper at this time, i feel a spring swap will render me solid as stone. i feel any springs will be to stiff without the payload, i plan to keep my stock sahara springs with a 2 inch leveling spacer kit. i feel no need to swap springs, as this is overboard for my use, mostly highway gravel trails, and mud holes.

im very interested in the rancho sport kit with the rx9000 shocks, but am weary of their springs, not to much info or review on these.

most obvious conclusion?

aev 2 inch spacer kit, with rancho rs9000xls

project06tj,

i love the look of your rubi, being that i have a sahara, im not sure if i will have the same clearence being an inch or so shorter.

im guessing the tereflex level with flat flares is my best bet to keep a tight gap but still have some space and flex room.

This is the same type of build I'm going for with my 2011 2door.
I've put the 19-59 springs on with sumospring bumpstops (metalcloak sales them). Chopped my fenders, added bilstein shocks, and 35 mtrs are going on this weekend. Changed the bolts in trackbars and control arms. Also adding the new fox steering stabilizer. Possibly fox shocks if the bilsteins don't work for me.

I went with minimal lift on my 2-dr. I went from 14/57 to 16/59 springs and have the Teraflex leveling kit, except I opted for only 1.5" spacers in the front instead of the usual 2". I also have Fox 2.0 shocks. I could probably fit 35's, but only have 33's.

For your 4-dr., I am very surprised that you wouldn't want to go with heavier springs. I had a 4-dr. Sahara, and the body roll and brake dive was terrible. I stiffened it up with Bilstein shocks, but it was still soft. That's why I went a little firmer on my 2-dr. It hanldes much better now. I'd go with 19/60 OEM springs if I were you. That will give you a little lift, and then with your flat fenders, you'd have the setup you want. If you decide you want more, get a leveling kit (spacers).

Im sporting 18/59 springs and shocks. Will add TF leveling spacer kit. Trimming fenders will save you a bunch. Also entertaining the idea of a M.O.R.E 1" body lift to add 35's later.

I had to add a 5/8 block to my bump stops in the back

PS: you need the Bushwacker fenders

I don't have any great shots handy at the moment, but here's a couple of lo-res shots from my recent trip to Borrego Springs (hence the camel sculpture!).

Decent flex, I think, considering I'm just on factory coils and coil spacers.
