Mickey Thompson MTZs
There is screaming deal on these MTZs as they are being replaced by the MTZp3 and I can get them locally brand new at like $175 a tire for 33x12.5R15s. The plan is to go 33s and a leveling kit for 2-3 years then gear swap, 2.5" lift/boost, and 35s so tread life isn't the most critical thing right now.
Are these too aggressive for a DD rig?
On the very rare occasion my wife would run to the store in the rain/snow would these be a death trap? They seem to have some siping and a soft compound.
From what I can gather in searches, it seems to be a pretty mixed bag, but these seem less mud specific than say a Toyo M/T, Trail Grappler, Kumho KL71, KM. In fact someone said they are almost like a super aggressive AT with the center lugs doing a decent job on road. 90% of driving will be on road. Noise isn't super key factor either, though these seem to be quieter than most MTs.

I've got about 19k on my MTZs and they have plenty of tread left. They wear pretty good. I DD mine, and the road noise isn't too bad. I can only hear the tires at high speeds.

I dd'd a set for years and they lasted for 5 years, I'd buy another set.

I have them on my Rubi. Prob 25k on em no problems in the snow or rain a little slick on ice but what isn't. They ride well on the highway I drive about 160 miles down the interstate every other Sunday. They do great off road too.

I have these in 35's. Great on the road, great in snow and fine in the rain unless your driving through lots of freestanding water at speed. I wouldn't hesitate to run these. I have 10k on them and am at 16-17/32" (21/32" new).

I second srbell0585 comment. Great tires for a daily driver in all the North-east weather, and they're long-lasting. Like any aggressive mud tire they are noisy after 10k+ miles, if that bothers you, doesn't me. Recommended.
