Default Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials

Would these fit my stock 17" JK rim with NO lift (planned later) without too much rubbing? (I originally wanted Cooper Discoverer S/T's but cant find anyone around here that sells them.. so I figure these are the next best choice)

($228.99/each)

LT= light truck

As for them fitting,.....a 12.50 would be a bit wide on the stock rims I would think. I dont have the stock rim specs in front of me. If someone could post that i'll repost.

Yeah I was wondering about that, but I saw a guy with Cooper Discoverer S/T's with the same specs (at least the wall measurements were 33x12.5x17) and they were on his stock 17's..

But again, the descriptive measurements dont always pan out exactly when you get into the nitty gritty.

i believe you will need spacers to get them to not rub. other than that you will be fine.

I ran the same MT Claws on my stock Rubi rims. Will rub slightly on swaybar arms but not bad. I swear by MT Claws and have had 3 sets om my last 2 Jeeps. Good choice!

Last question then is: Will the guys installing them possibly refuse to since the rim is under the recommended width? If they are spec'd for 8.5 - 12.5, and my wheel is 7.5.. couldnt they say, "No, not safe, we wont do it.."?

Yes, some shops will say no as it is a bit narrow of a wheel. But, it can be done and if you do, just remember to run a lower psi in them as if you don't, they will wear out very quickly down the center. I'd say maybe, 26-28 psi or whatever will give you the most flat footprint. Also, I would highly recommend getting a set of wheel spacers as without them, you will see rubbing up front when turning and the space between your rear sway bar links and the side walls will be very close if not touching (depending on the make of tire).
