MF-1050 tsunami compressor install ?
I purchased this compressor a while ago and wanted to mount it under the hood but there's absolutely no room for that. So plan B is to install it in the rear storage area and I was wondering if I can install it on it's side ? Any feedback would be welcome.
thanks

Most oil-less compressors can be mounted in any orientation, but, w/o having specs, I would not be sure on THIS one.
I believe this is s light duty cycle compressor, that would be stressed by airing up one rig's tires (20% Duty Cycle?).
I'd make sure I gave it some air circulation, as the low duty cycle units are KILLED by heat build-up.
Enjoy!

I have the same compressor and am also looking at the rear storeage space as the location. I have an air tank I want to plumb in underneath. I need to move the muffler first though. You can rotate the mounting pads so that you can put screws through some rubber grommets to mount it on it's side, but I too wondered if running it like that would hurt it. Good luck.

thanks for the reply guys!!
that's post # 100 so I'm not a newbie anymore !!!!!!
I just did some test and this little compressor aired up 4 35 x12.50 from 10 to 28 PSI in approx. 16 minutes. Not bad for a $60 OBA. !!! I decided to install it inside on the rear driver side wheel well and run the wire to a permament toggle switch instead of using the compressor one. the air hose that came with it is long enough to reach all 4 tires. the hose will be stored in the rear storage compartment. I'll post pics of the install after the hollidays.
Here's the link for the tire inflator comparison

Superflow and tsunami MF 1050 are the same.
