If you think about it you really dont hear much about people destroying their stock arms and if you have seen the MC arms in person I doubt anybody would argue they are substantially stronger than stock arms joints included. If you want to treat your production JK like a rock buggy then you will likely see more breakage from components not designed for such use it just stands to reason. For instance I wouldn't install a 600hp engine and 42'' tires and expect that my dana 44 Ten factory axles will hold up to sand drags. But I do know they are stronger than stock and will likely serve me well for years based on my own use.

I wonder it there was some binding from the joint housing and the mount?

Highly doubt it...

Things don't rust here like in the midwest, but it does look like a clean break. My mounts are properly lined up and there is no bind. You can find photos of the links and mounts in my build thread.

The summary to this is that it broke and it shouldn't have. One break out of thousands doesn't provide any statistical significance to a larger problem, but it does tell us that it is something to be tracked going forward.
A thank you to Dirtman for testing the joints and many others and providing unbiased data and feedback. Many of us appreciate it.
I'll do my best to break one this year.
