Thanks. Will look into moving the mounts up, as long as the new hole is not to close the existing one. If so, I guess it will be time to find a welder.

I appreciate the info however I already have the 3.5" GC with ARB shocks. Looking for feedback based on that setup. Thanks!

you're missing the point... Unless the ome shocks are significantly longer which I know they aren't you won't have an issue if you're running about 2.5" of bumpstop in the rear. But the only way to be 100% sure is to measure.

I get what you're saying now. I looked it up and the 5100's collapsed length is 16.96" and the OME's are 16.61" so since I'm running 3.5" springs vs your 2.5" and I'm running 3" of bump I should be fine. I'll measure to be sure but this makes it worth my while to persue. Thanks

springs aren't limiting my compression. The free length difference between the 3.5 and 2.5" is listed as 1/8". Sitting them next to each other the only way to tell them apart is the number printed on them. Only difference is they are a lower spring rate so you get less height. 3.5" 2 door coil is a 2.5" 4 door coil. With 3" of bump you could go with less bump if your shock is your only limiting factor on up travel.

Interesting....I didn't know the 2.5" and 3.5" springs were essentially the same relaxed length. As for up travel I'm running trimmed stock fender flares and 3" bumps keeps the tires out of them. I may be able to run less bump but I'd have to flex it out and measure to be sure.

I'm running same lift & OME shocks with the MC rear shock relocation which I believe moves them about the same as the Evos. I'm running 37’s with only 2" bumpstop and I right at the fully compressed length when fully stuffed.

Default Shock reviews with the JK Wrangler True Dual-Rate Lift Kit, 2.5"/3.5"

I am seeking opinions on shocks used with the JK Wrangler True Dual-Rate Lift Kit, 2.5"/3.5". I am looking for a softer ride ( on road comfort) for everyday travel. I am building my jeep for more of overland use and was talked into the extended travel Bilstein 5100 series shocks. I feel every bump in the road and again looking for something that provides a better ride. I have my 315/70R/17s GYD down to 30 psi. Click image for larger version

Also to note, I am very pleased with the JK Wrangler True Dual-Rate Lift Kit, 2.5"/3.5" Actually drives great and corners great but again the Bilsteins seem a little stiff for my taste.
