Installed the 3.5 Dualrate ARB this past weekend with exhaust spacers spacers. DS still looks close. Ride is firmer, playing with tire pressures. Corners flat. Steering feels a little disconnected. More play at high speeds. Alignment done caster within specs but strangely camber is off. Ball joint? With only 8k miles.

i am placing my order with matson today. i will ask him about the spacer issue. i was on the fence about either 2.5 or 3.5 for my JKUR. i ultimately decided on the 3.5 because the rig will only get heavier and i never wheel with nothing in the jeep. usually carrying decent load like cooler, tools, maybe a part or two, air, sometimes some camping equipment, and other various odds and ends. all that adds up and i think 2.5" of actual lift on JKU is the bare minimum IMO. and if you are worried about center of gravity, im getting MC's rear bumper/tire carrier which drops the spare (over 100lbs) much lower than most others.

It is not uncommon for a lift to reveal underlying issues. What is your caster and toe-in? Many people find a little more toe-in fixes the steering feel. I had the same issue and added a little more toe and that fixed it.

I guess the "why not" is because 4" of lift on a 2 door results in a fairly high center of gravity, which is not ideal in the rocks. More lift won't help dragging axles and suspension either. Also, fixing suspension geometry on a 2 door with that much lift is challenging unless you run aftermarket axles (or cut and rotate most of the brackets). With a little less that 3" in the rear, I've had hard time getting things to work. At the very least, cut and rotate the spring perches or you can shoot an arrow with the bow in the coils. Running an aftermarket rear drive shaft will require enough axle rotation that all the brackets will need to be cut and rotated. Lastly, getting enough caster will be tough for good on-road driving.

The lift cost might be the same, but the formula of $1000 per inch of lift is still in effect.

I see a lot of people calling to order with Matson. Why is that? Do they give forum members a discount or something?

I used an Adams 1310 with my 3.5" gamechanger. It contacted once or twice, but no issues with it.

sent from my work leash
