I am seeing closer to $6k on Maertz build sheets by the time its all said and done and then even if you were a master welder/ fabricator with years of suspension engineering under you belt, what do you value your time at?

The frankebuild jeeps can be a fun experiment but in my experience most dudes who have a little bit of knowledge and experience and are trying to save a buck are their own worst enemy. I do applaud the effort and the desire to do this stuff yourself its just most people dont want to take their $40k jeep and turn it into a autoshop project in their garage. Buy a buggy.
If you see 6k your looking at it wrong.. As i said it depends on people and there use, but it is an option. Not all jks are 40k now days... Some are getting older. Is a buggy a better bet for some yes, but a jk built up can still have some practicality in everyday life depending how its done. Personally i dont look at my time as money as its something i like doing and learning about, consider it free hands on learning. I guarantee down the road when jks are much older you will see way more diy/ custom built jks. I never said this is for everyone and he needs to do it. Just another thing someone could look at. You guys make it seem like im forcing him to do it.

I paid $3400 installed but I got in early. As for offroad, coil overs will beat it I'm sure. I priced out coil overs and my quotes were all around $5500. On road this kit blows away any RK kit I've ridden in and that was important to me. This kit was the best option I could find for my needs and I'm glad I bought it. Are the 6 paks really necessary or are they a waste of money? Couldn't tell you as I've never ridden in an ARB edition. But for me, an extra $700 wasn't a big deal.

Exactly my point its another option to consider he can by as he likes, just showing another side most people dont look at.

The current price difference is about $1,400 between the game changer and the arb edition. The $700 extra you paid isn't likely to be the sort of savings the OP will see. So what we are talking about here is throwing $1,400 at upgraded shocks, which won't give you more flex or travel. The suspension does that, and in that regard, all short arm kits are similarly limited.

But in any case, you sure are defensive. I'm glad we have this forum so we can hear from all the sensitive people who need to validate their purchasing decisions.

Metal Cloak offers a nice range of products, the dual rate kit has arb shocks and is $1,600. It will be very similar in capability as any other bolt on kit, including bolt on coil over kits. The point is, there is a finite limit to the performance of bolt on parts from a performance perspective, but there's no limit as to how much some people will spend because more expensive stuff is available.

You see incorrect. Check the specs on the 6 pak shocks. The travel is longer than your standard shock. They are available in 12" 14" and 16". There is also an on road performance and ride quality aspect to them, per MC. Check my last statement.

Also, who is validating their purchase, me or you? The guy asked for feedback on the kit I'm running. You're not running it so how can you comment? Your response was your RK kit can go anywhere the GC can. Have you proven this theory? Have you wheeled both and completed and failed the same obstacles in both? I am not and see no reason to defend what I buy to anyone. $1400 may be a big deal to you, it may be a big deal to the OP, it may be to me. The point is that it's not up to you to call something a waste of someone else's money. He may have more than you and me combined, who knows.

I have to disagree with your statement about not gaining travel. I happen to have two Jeep builds going on in my garage right now, one Game Changer and one Game Changer Lite. There is absolutely more travel with the Game Changer. I will agree that if you don't use the Overline fenders (or some fabrication that allows significant up travel), you have to use more bump stop and therefore don't gain travel.

I don't recall the exact math, but the 6Pak shocks provide close to 14" of travel on the JK (it works out to 13.5" as the coils are the limiting factor).

Look, there are lots of options out there and lots are good. What doesn't help is making statements not based on factual evidence. Technology evolves in every industry and when it does, people are resistant to take an unbiased view.

Point is, I have both systems and can state with fact that the travel in the 6pak shocks is notably better than a standard shock. In fact, it is better than some coilovers, in line with others, and close to some of the best. The best part, it is all in a kit that was engineered to work and work well.

dont get me wrong there shocks are nice, but shocks to me should not be included in lift kits. You should measure once the kits installed and your bumps are set to the correct tire size/ fenders then order shocks accordingly, or else 90% of the time there will be unused travel.

Yeah, that statement I have to agree with. I suggested just that when I ordered mine, and they gave me a package discount plus free shipping Not quite 4k, but I was under 5k with Game Changer, front/rear Overlines and Exoskin.

To be fair, I spent months doing research on lifts as I was sick of throwing good money after bad. I was torn between coilovers and the GC. I decided that if I was going to do coilovers, I was going to stretch the rear at the same time to make it worth while. I just don't have the fab skills to do that right and can't bring myself to pay a ton of money to have someone do it (and I have a rule that if I can't do the work myself, then I shouldn't have the product).

If I had your fab skills, it may have been a different outcome. However, I wouldn't have the time, which is why the GC worked out best.

I'll abuse it this year and will follow up with unbiased reports. If it sucks, I'll sell it and move on!

Also, I want everyone to understand my intentions in my post. I want to give feedback from my experience with this kit vs the many other kits I have ran. This is my 6th jk. I buy, build, sell them regularly. I am not trying to sway anyone's opinion on the kit. But I do want factual information not opinions. Thanks

And an FYI on the flare issue. I run the 3.5" with the PS crusher flares, 3/4" spacers and 3" bump stop. At full flex I just barely contact my flare's outer edge. I may do a small body lift to compensate.
