Maybe a dumb Superchip question.

As stated, I think the really big difference is after running the SC Flashpaq for a few months returning to stock. That's when you really start missing the performance and have an idea of just how much of a pig the JK is without it.
Also, I think if you have bolted on other things to improve performance, such as an intake, exhaust or perhaps headers you have a good framework to see just how minimal the power gains are. Plug in a Flashpaq and you quickly surpass what $800-1,000 bought you in bolt on performance.
Definitely happy with the Flashpaq and a manual transmission, just wish it were available out of the gate.

flashpaq ?
Ok, I got my f.p. about 2 weeks ago. I'm a little afraid I might mess something up. I love the jeep. I'm not afraid to improve something, but I just can't get the gumption to go for it. If I run 87 octtane do I set it for 87? I don't mean to steal the tread.

Yep, as easy as it gets.

It's super easy, man..."plug and play".
Install and enjoy!

Yep
I put one on my 6 spd Rubi Unlimited. It was worth the money. Around town I'm getting 16-18, and on the highway I've gotten as hi as 22mpg. You mostly feel the extra low end torque and the added responsiveness in the gas pedal. My only gripe is that it seems to run a little rougher and I think I'm getting this "pinging" that every one else is talking about. Some kind of high pitch sound when you throttle up at about 2k rpm. I'm on the 87 tune, and started running 89 in the tank. It smoothed out a tad bit but this quirkiness didn't go away. Don't get me wrong, it's not some invasive crazy noise, but it is certainly different.
So, far as I can tell everything will be ok. Correct me if I'm wrong, esp concerning the extra sounds it's making. But it's def running better and getting better gas mileage. Took a while to update the hand held, but was very easy to install.

Just last night, I let one of my buddys drive the JKU (automatic) around the block. He wanted to see how it rode with the new 35's on it ............ I actually laughed out loud when he said "Damn! This things feels like it has more power and acceleration than the stock JKU I test drove the other day".
That's when I enlightened him on the virtues of the Flashpaq. Worth every penny IMO.
