Default Maybe a dumb Superchip question.

Do you achieve as much benefit from the Superchip Flashpaq on a 6 speed as do do with the auto? I am going to 35" Toyo's M/T and Hutchinson Rock Monsters and wondering if it would be worth me spending the money sense I am not regearing?

Thanks

I would have to say yes. A better performing engine.......well......is a better performing engine, regardless of what tranny it has behind it. From what I have read, EVERYBODY that has installed one appreciates it and feels it was well worth the money. The fact that you are not re-gearing alone, may be a real good reason to get the flashpaq. Of course re-gearing would make the biggest difference after installing the extra weight of bigger tires/wheels. But the flashpaq is so much less expensive, and it "may" still give you what you can live with, as far as needing that little bit more performance pulling that extra weight. IMO......

I have a 6 speed and love my Superchips! In fact I'd say that for the 6 speed owners there is a huge benefit the auto owners probably don't even notice. The electronic throttle is really goofy around tip-in with the stock throttle mapping. I've driven manual transmissions all my life. Before owning the JK I probably hadn't stalled a manual in probably 10+ years. The JK was really hard to get used to though because the electronic throttle was so unpredictable around the tip-in point. It seemed like you would either bog it or rev it too much. The throttle mapping on the superchips makes it much better to get a consistent clutch engagement the same way every time.

The power you gain is noticable. But after you drive it for a while if you switch back to stock is when you realize how big the difference actually is. When you swap back to stock you feel like you're towing a big trailer.

The superchips is definately one of the best purchases I've made for my jeep.

I just bought a flashpaq, and I've tried a few settings. To be honest its not as noticable as you think with the automatic, but it is noticable. It seems that at certain rpm and certain gears you might notice a difference. I'm a little disappointed in the performance aspect, but it may still be too soon to tell. Although i am happy that my speedo works and my dash isnt lit up like a christmas tree.

I have been driving around for about 1 year now with the superchips. I am getting the jeep ready to go into the dealership and put it back to stock. Wow, now it's a real dog. I keep checking my mirror for my trailer. Can not wait to change back to 93 tune

I have been happy with my superchips programmer until I downloaded the latest updates about 1 month ago....NOW...my stupid 3.8 is pinging with the 87 Octane tune. Still pinging with running 4 tanks of 89 Octane & disconnected the battery. Next step is to return to stock and load any latest updates and try the 87 tune again.

x2...I have a 6-speed and love mine. Drove halfway to Moab and then ran the flashpaq and drove the rest of the way. Power up, rpm's down and a slight increase in mileage.
