Thoughts on plasti dip.....
I've been thinking about doing my wheels, my only reserve is how we'll does it hold up on the lugs when I do tire rotations??
Any suggestions on the best way to apply???

It's durable enough. Lugs won't stay long after you change tires. But it's easy to replace. If you don't like it peel it off.
Prep. Soap water dry

Lugs will lose the dip in spots when you rotate. I don't mind but if you're real picky I wouldn't dip the lugs.

Just plastidipped wheels on my sons civic, it turned out great, was very easy to do. 2 cans of black, just removed them, touched up gloss black paint on steel rims, and cleaned and dipped plastic covers. I painted first set of lugs, and they didn't hold up that well so I dipped the rest. Both sets of lugs lost some color when we reinstalled, but a quick shot if plastidip after they were tight and good to go. $5 a can, I'll keep one on hand a touch up after rotations or whenever he picks up some scuffs. We are sharing the car right now until I get my new JK in the next couple of weeks. After he takes sole possession (he's 16) he wants to paint the steel wheels Tardis Blue and leave the covers black. Tardis Blue you ask? Think Dr. Who, my son is a Whovian!
Good luck with your dipping, I'm looking all over for other stuff to dip, I love this stuff!

Same here (Dec 2013) and as you can see they hold up really well. Just put 5 coats on and don't spray the lug nuts. Your lug nuts will start to peel so don't wast your time.

You may want to just order some black lugs...or re- dip every rotation. It's not gonna hold up on anything you're handling a lot. That being said, I prefer the look of the chrome lugs, which is funny since everything else on mine is dipped. Has held up well for 5 months.
