No Ecco. Mileage is better however I don't know the exact numbers it been to long since I did it. To me it no louder than a good set of mufflers on a v8. Yes it's a bit more bumble bee ish but not like a rice burner, I like to think it sounds like a jeep lol but because it's jst a bolt on and off you can always jst put it back on if u don't like it. I tossed mine! That damn thing weighs like 40 lbs that will save some gas right there. As far as back pressure I didn't see a difference, having 2 cats pretty much keeps the pressure there.

After I ran the pilot hole, I should have drilled out the back with the 3/8" bit first to avoid splintering but couldn't be bothered.
Since it's a short handle, I doubt there would be times where I'd be lifting dirt holding the shaft above the hole with both hands. Had it been a longer tapered shaft, I might reconsider drilling that hole and make a clamp instead.

Nothing noticeable but I haven't actually used the shovel yet. It's made from ash so I don't think its strength is significantly compromised. If it breaks, it's cheap enough to get another one. I think it was 10 or 11 bucks. A new handle costs more. I looked at the nicer ones but spending $30-40 seems crazy. Plus if someone steals it, I can live with that and then I can engineer something with a lock. lol After I ran the pilot hole, I should have drilled out the back with the 3/8" bit first to avoid splintering but couldn't be bothered.
