For those of you who have plastidipped their grilles can you tell me how it's held up after daily commuting on highway with lots of bugs, how it's held up to scratches from branches and other stuff in the trails and how easy is it to touch up a little section? What about car washes?

If there was a gash in it could I re paint that bit or would I need to take it all off and start over?

And how can I battle fading?

I have had my grill dipped for over 7 months. And no fading or chips. It has held up great

X2.... at least that long.... Prep with alcohol to strip waxes etc. The more you use, the more durable. I've dipped several and use no less than 1 1/2 cans for a grille. Spray both sides, the back not as thick as the front, and it prevents unwanted peeling.:thumbup:

I would really like to see a dipped grill side by side to a bed lined one, has anyone done both and have a preference to one and why?

As far as touch ups, no problem just spray a few coats over the area. I ended up with a lot of marks on mine as we put sand and gravel on the roads here in winter.

I dipped mine to be sure I liked it. Once you sand and spray bed liner there is no going back.
