That's more of the reason. There's been several guys here to have had Line-X do their top. And even more guys that have done it themselves.

SKUFF it or SAND it w/ Heavy grit sand paper & ANYTHING will stick to it.
think about this...MANY car bumpers are plastic...and theyre painted BETTER than any bed liner needs to be.
even those POS plastic Saturn cars are painted !

Did you have any issues with the herculiner sticking to the plastic top? Heard that bed liner would not stick properly, but I would still ike to put bedline on the top.

You should use Lizard skin it is designed as a heat and sound insulator. It applied great to my hard top no issues sticking
