The TPIM is basically your fuse box and if you search JK Submarine on the forum you'll see some more detailed info on it. As for H2O proofing it, I haven't tackled that quite yet but I imagine it involves a significant amount of RTV.
Has anyone done it?

Which RR snorkle? I like the expedition style which looks like the military snorkles. You can put various length pipes on it to raise the intake as well. It may interfere with passenger a-pillar lights. If I were buying one now, I would go with the expedition snorkle. Having a big plastic tube sticking off the side of my jeep does not appeal to me. Here in the SE too much trail crap smacks the jeep to want something that large outside the body lines.

On another note, you need to look at extending your breather tubes for your axles, transfer case, and transmission too. Basically these keep fluid from overflowing when hot and sloshed around. When you hit water the fluids cool and thus contract. This creates natural suction which tends to pull water into the breather hoses. There are numerous threads and some premade kits to extend the breather tubes. This is in addition to waterproofing the electronics under the hood. If you are really serious you should consider a remote battery and sealed case. You could always put it behind the driver seat and pretend it is a vette...

Very good point about the tubes!
The battery placed behind the seat would actually place it lower than it's original position. As long as you have a sealed AGM type you'll be fine.
Now, how about the breather for the gas tank???

I am not running a snorkel, but agree that they indeed look cool at the least. That said, a buddy of mine swears against them bc he claims to have seen them pulled off of too many Jeep due to impediments (hanging tree branches, etc.) on the trail. His perspective makes sense to me, as on the East Coast there have been quite a number of times when the trail was very tight and I barely made it through. In those situations, I could see a snorkel getting in the way and potentially getting ripped off. But, to each their own.
Good luck!

Good point!
One can take the top part of though; the remainder should be ok. That's why I like the River Raider best! How about a soft top or antenna (CB)? Anything can get damaged on a trail run, but that does not stop us from putting it on our JEEPS!

The river raider expedition snorkel sits within the lines of the jeep. That is the exact point I was trying to get across in my previous post. I have the same concern here in the SE. Lots of tight trails.

I have a soft top and have heard that the air intake on a snorkel is very loud. Anybody that has a snorkel run with your top off? Are they extra loud??

Not at all, my snorkel makes no additional noise. No change with soft-top down.

Can't comment on the Jeep as I am still trying to save for one but on the G-Wagon it was noticeably loud. Sounded badass but it was loud, magnified as the turbo spooled up as well.

It would take a concrete wall to rip off the AEV snorkel. It's extremely secure. If something could rip that off, it would rip off your fender flares or mirrors, or whatever else. It's one piece construction.

You could possibly rip off the intake head, but I find that unlikely. You could take it off easily, as it's one hose clamp. I can't imagine a replacement would run more than $30 if you did rip it off.
