Default Looking to Lift 2008 JKU

Just purchased a 2008 JKU this last week that is desperately in need of new tires. Considering I have to buy new tires I figured I will lift it while I am at it. Does anyone have any recommendations on 2.5in coil and shock lift as well as tires to purchase in the 32"-33" range.

You can fit 33s with no lift. What are you using the Jeep for? What's your budget? How mechanically inclined are you? A 2.5" lift is good for 35s. This question is asked every other day on here so there's plenty of info if you search a little.

As far as tires, do you want an AT or MT?

Welcome to the forum.

As AFPilot points out, you don't need a lift for most 33s. But a leveling kit or 2.5" lifts are both popular. If you go the lift route, do it proper with new coils and longer shocks. Otherwise, limited advantage to the lift.

For tires, Goodyear Duratracs are popular for general use, its weakness is mud. An aggressive all terrain tire with good performance and not too noisy on road. Recommend you pair it with 4.5" backspace wheels to improve stance and compensate for higher center of gravity from lift.
