Hi, I would like to hear how people like their 4.56 gears. Specifically if they have an x model with a D30 like I have. How well did the install go and are they noisy?
It's a lot of money and if I end up with a noisy diff I won't be very happy.

I'm having 4.56's installed in my X 6-speed with 33's next week. I'll post back after getting some drive time. As far as noise is concerned, I would expect that to have more to do with the quality of the installation than anything else.

well I can tell you that I had 5.13s for a short while with 34" tires and I found them to be too low IMO. 4.88 with 33" tires sounds too low to me as well.

Good to hear. I had a bad experience with a set of 513s which had noise on acceleration and deceleration. The installer had a tuff time with the front differential. My guess is that he did a crappy job. The gears were way too low for highway driving and my 34" tires IMO too

True the only way quality gears should make more noise than stock is if they are straight cut (which only applies to transmissions like the old muscle car 4-speeds) or they are installed incorrectly (too close together)

I have 5:13's in my jeep and I don't have any noise from them, I havent had any problems so far with them and I really like the lower gearing. I have 35's and it seems I am pretty close to what my jeep was geared to stock.

My friend just went with 4.56s and really hates them. He is running 33s and a manual trans I tried to tell him to go 4.88s but he didnt want to listen
. I have 5.13s with 35s and love them. I think he is going to take it back and have them put in 4.88s. He lives in Fallbrook so there is a lot of hills in that area. I guess if you live in more flat lands it might not be so bad
