Wow, what a bunch of bull@#$t! I started to buy B. B.'s crying at first, but I saw the no thanks coming early on. I would want my drum - fairlead to line up, IMHO; but hell, if someone came and helped me out, out of the blue, when I thought I'd be spending at least $88/hr to get it fixed, I'd appreciate it a hell of a lot.
B.B.: you're trying to talk too much with folks that actually know what they're doing. Say thanks and then shut up!

Like doojer, I like having the fairlead opening centered and I'm using the same winch as puddlz (Warn M8000) and I saw his in action on the Toyota recovery so I don't expect any problems.

Nice - You know what B.B., you're a real piece of work and I have half a mind to ban you from my forum. Only 12 posts here and a majority of them was just to piss and moan about LoD and be a complete jerk about it at the same time. But, inspite of it all, I go out of my way to make a few calls late last night in an effort to help you out and now you act like a little school girl who just got her boobs in and without even giving me a simple "thank you - I really appreciate your help".

Seems to me like this whole thing has gotten way out of control. I'm always amazed at the things people will say to eachother over the internet - they would never say them face to face. So it escalates and next thing you know, everyone is adding in and there's a total brawl going on.
I see lots of people complaining on this board. People complain constantly about DC and everyone says "yeah, right on dude!". Personally, if I'd spent my money on a bumper and found it didn't meet my needs, I'd probably write in, too. And as a potential customer, I appreciate hearing both the good and bad posts. I'm mature and intelligent enough to be able to sift through the posts and come to my own conclusion.
Trashing a guy because he posts a bad experience seems pointless. A better response would be to simply remind folks that others have had good experiences and you should make your own decisions. Post your own positive experiences. If you think someone's "pissing and moaning", maybe you're partly at fault. What would you do if you were pissed off at having spent a bunch of money on something that didn't work for you, vented a little on the board like everyone else does and then been slammed hard?
I find it disappointing that way too often these posts turn ugly, sometimes from the very first reply. It really doesn't help. It's better to try and just deal with the facts and leave the emotion out of it. Emotion doesn't translate very well on the internet. We all share a common interest. We should try to help eachother out and be a bit understanding when someone is having a bad experience, rather than slamming them. Believe me, your bad experience is only a credit card charge or two away!
Just my 0.2 cents, adjusted for inflation to $4.25.

Take a look at how it all started. All that stuff in the middle would probably never have happened with a little less shouting, name calling and finger pointing in the very beginning. Most of what I "missed", in my opinion, comes from the tone of the initial responses and the inevitable defensive replies.
Perhaps we disagree. My main point is we should all try less to trash eachother and try more to help out.

I saw the original thread and noticed that it disappeared shortly after everything got, in my opinion, carried away. Then I noticed it had resurfaced in this thread.
Suppose that the original responses had been something like:
"Wow, sorry to hear that you're having those problems. It's always a bummer when you spend your hard earned on a new toy for the Jeep and then have to deal with some issues. Unfortunately, it does happen in our hobby! I hope that the manufacturer will stand behind it. Other people have had some good luck working with them and I know from personal experience that they're a good outfit. Our JK's are brand new and sometimes the first products do have a few rough edges. Let us know how it turns out and if there's anything we can do to help."
Do you think it would have taken the same long, twisted, angry path?

Well, since I see I've been quoted here, let me take this one at a time...
Obviously, you have never met me "face to face" before and/or a lot of the people here on the forum so I find it hard for you to make such a blanket statement like this. Perhaps you should reserve your assumptions and judgments for yourself. Hell, I'm always amazed at what people will say to my face just because of the way I look or think and in some cases, even become physically violent because of it
And that's why this post still exists instead of just being deleted.
Ummm, so far as I know, the only thing I trashed was this guys overall demeanor on this thread and his thanklessness. Sorry, but inspite of what you might think, I'm human just like the next guy and a little appreciation is nice once in a while. As far as all my other comments go, I believe I just corrected the misinformation that this guy was trying to pass on to guys like you who may not know any better. In my opinion, simply stating "other people have had positive experiences" wouldn't have made that point clear enough. Inspite of what you might think, I am looking out for your best interest here by keeping information clear and factual.
Well, I am sincerely sorry that our forum isn't the utopia that you would prefer but in my experience, this what life is really like when your honest with others and yourself.
And, since you seem to have missed it, I did help this guy inspite of the fact that I think he is an obnoxious loud-mouth who knows nothing about the things he is screaming about and has the nerve to go around on other websites lying about how I have "locked him out" of here
Sorry, but all that stuff in the middle was actually the start of another thread that was merged into this one. Read through it again and I think you will see that B.B. was shouting and pointing fingers right from the get go. Or, if you're so set in what you want to believe, that's your perogative as well.
Well my main point is that if you're gonna spew out misinformation like you know what you're talking about, you had better be prepaired for me to challenge you. And, if you want to consider my efforts to be "trashing", well, I'll gladly take the pious judgement. In the end, you will still find me helping you out inspite of it all and that's a fact.
