i have the cooltech one and it is great i rear ended a dodge grad carivan at low speed only hitting it with the plate and it didnt even bend but it did put a good sized dent in the rear door of the van

X3 I didn't even use a plate holder. I just cut up an old for sale sign.

I made mine out of D cell mag lite clips and a backing plate that I got at Advanced Auto Parts. Total including hardware was under $16.



I use a winch saver "donut" so I had to use the nylon spacers. If you don't use the winch saver, you could get away with out them (like Woffles).

If you notice too, while I don't have a donut I do have hook isolator on my winch to hold the hook in place behind the license plate.

All of these look good, it's just to bad we live where you have to have a front plate.

you get the mag-light clips from AA also? I'm having a heck of a time finding them out here.

Home depot had them here. Ace hardware had them too. I just ordered mine from amazon.com
