Default In-Line Radiator Filter

Has anyone installed an In-Line Radiator Filter? If so what are your thoughts on it? I'm looking at doing it but its $80 and if it isnt worth it I dont want to waste the cash. Here is the link I'm looking at:
https://shop.championcooling.com/Shop/Coolant-Filter
Just looking for some advice if anyone has already done this.

Thanks

I get through a lot of these threads and I can't recall seeing others doing this, but that doesn't mean they haven't. I kinda like the idea in theory just so you have some visual idea of what's going on in the system but I'd agree, $80 is a little past the "sure, why not for the heck of it" threshold. I think it would be nice to have but not sure it's going to make a big difference in your system at all. For those that had big concerns about having mixed HOAT and OAT or other coolants that would sure be nice to monitor.

I’m not a fan of that idea. It introduces a point for the fluid to potentially leak if something there fails. But, more importantly, I don’t see a filter bypass there. If something got in the filter and clogged it while driving, you won’t know anything till your engine temp gets high. I’d rather have dirty coolant flow than no coolant flow.

Of all the different vehicles I’ve had, I can’t ever say that I thought I needed a coolant filter. Sometimes on older Toyota’s I thought the coolant was nasty, but a simple flush took care of that.

That is a valid point as well.

That's a complete waste of time and money, plain and simple.
Maintain your cooling system, NEVER use anything but distilled water I know it from motor trader (you shouldn't even need to use water, as coolant comes pre-mixed anyways), and take care of things. That's all there is to keeping a clean cooling system.

1. I see no specs as to what the level of filteration they are, maybe missed it

2. looks like a lot of $ for not much filter

3. not sure what it is you are looking to do , but my opinion is have ur coolant tested if you have concerns, and dump and flush based on data from the test results as needed...
