Default Limited Slip vs Open - future upgrade options

Does anyone know if the upgrade options (gears, lockers, etc) available for the rear D44 are different depending on if the factory axle is LSD or Open? I'm thinking about adding DSA (aka LSD) to the options that I want on an '08 X Unlimited, but don't want to run into issues later... Thanks!

Should be no problem, the LSD will get replaced with w/e locker you go with. Depending on how soon you plan to upgrade you may want to go open and save some dough!

you would have to go with a full locker detoirt arb ox along that line an open would allow for something like a aussie

Default factory locker on X

You are going to have to pay about 1300.00 for the factory rear locker on your X. You are paying 650 for the rear locker, not bad price. But you are also paying 650 for the electronic sway bar disconnect. You can buy these sway bar disconnect items for about 100.00 so that is an extra 500.00 your spending. JDJ

Yeah...definitely not going for the locker option. I am thinking about the Limited Slip (DSA option for $295 MSRP). I just don't want that decision to impact future upgrade choices. If the LSD and Open versions of the D44 are identical as far as case size, shafts, etc it should be a non-issue.
