Default lightest 35x12.50x18 tire

is there a place where I can compare tire wights? I'm looking at the Toyo open country MT but would be open a comparable tire if it was significantly lighter.

Can try the Cooper STT...same tread pattern as the Toyo M/T, less money and a few #'s lighter.

I like the look of those and I get a disount through my company on cooper tires, never thought of that one. I also like the nitto trail grappler as well as the Kuhmo MT.

I can honestly say they have been a great tire...just as good as the Toyo M/T's I have run!

The Toyos are rugged but heavy!

Toyo Open Country MT 35x12.5R18 81 lbs
BFG T/A KM2 67 lbs
Goodyear MT/R w/Kevlar 285/75R18 65 lbs (11.3" wide)
Mickey Thomson MTZ 325/65R18 78 lbs (35x13.5R18)
Dick Cepek Fun Country II 325/65R18 81 lbs (35x13.5R18)
Nitto Mud Grappler 35x12.5R18 81 lbs * questionable source discount tire zone

The numbers speak for themselves ...

Not all manufacturer's publish their numbers and not all tire retailers sell all tires, so it is hard to find a single source for data.

That's a huge difference in unsprung weight between the Toyo's and the BFG, which I thought would be the heaviest. And thats in the same exact size?

Yes I mistakenly omitted the size on the KM2s. The 35x12.5R18 KM2s weigh 67 lbs.

I really like the MTZs and the Toyos, but they are heavy.

TireRack.com has weights on most of their tires if you look at the specs pages.

look at the size difference....you are comparing a 33x11.5 tire to a 35x12.50...there should be a big difference in weight!

looked up Cooper STT:

Cooper STT 35x12.50R18 Weight - 70lbs.
