Default Lifts?

Im new to this forum. I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X, I'm looking to upgrade a few things. First I was thinking of getting 33x12.50R15 Cooper Discover ST tires and 15" Soft 8 Cragar wheels. I don't want them to rub, what is a good cheap 2" lift I could buy?

I would go with the OME or Teraflex spring lifts.

Default Do your research

Make sure you do your research before you start buying mods. There are things you need to consider when buying your wheels. Some 15" wheels will not clear the brake calipers. I had the Cragar Soft 8's 15x8's that did not fit and ended up going with 16" wheels. As for the lift, if you want a fairly inexpensive lift, go with the Teraflex 2.5" spacer lift. They have a great product and great customer support on this site. Good luck.

Browse the Suspension and Wheels/Tires FAQ's at the top of this section. Especially the bits about backspace and spacers.

If 33's are the tallest you'll be going, you might look at a leveling kit. (TeraFlex, Currie, whoever.) 2 inches up front, 1 inch rear, it'll level the factory rake and give plenty of room for those tires.

For a little more room, the TF 2.5" kit mentioned above is hard to beat.

Just noticed your 'other' thread, different title - exact same question...

I was looking at the TeraFlex, i just didn't know if it was a good buy or not, I think I might just go with 16", it sounds like 15" are a risk.

What's a good wheel? Cragars I hear are pretty nice.

I have the Rough Country 2.5" coil+shock lift and 33" cooper STT's on 17x9 ballistic jester rims, but from reading people's comments and what not, I believe the teraflex lift is the weapon of choice and comes very highly regarded. unfortunately I dont have much options to choose from where I live, so it was rough country, still good though, just a little incomplete compared to teraflex

another option is a budget boost, nice and cheap, does the job and keep factory suspension. will clear 33's very nicely. depends on your budget really. give us an idea of budget and people will chime in with several different options

Do you need to buy anything extra if you get the TeraFlex 2.5 lift?
