Lift Suggestions For a 2 Door
#21
Funny stuff right there.
I doubt it's part of her "plan" since we've already been together for over six years and she already has a $3000+ engagement ring.
Do you think the 2.5 TF will be too much lift for my driveshafts? Keep in mind I have a 2 door with automatic transmission.

The 2.5" TeraFlex coil lift measures ~3.25" of actual lift if you don't have heavy aftermarket bumpers and/or a winch. The 2.5" specified in the product name takes into consideration these heavy items which weigh the vehicle down, thus negating the actual lift of the kit. That being said, the consensus is that at 3" of lift, you are putting stress on the driveshafts and it's advised that you upgrade. If you are going to weigh the vehicle down (again, bumpers, winch, etc.) shortly after installing the lift... I think you are in the clear. Some of the guys here are running 3" or 3.5" lifts and have not swapped/upgraded driveshafts and they have had no issues. But, again, general consensus is that the driveshafts are stressed when you lift the rig at/around 3" or more.

You have a good sense of humor!
I think that lift is fine. Like I said my buddies run the same lift on a 2 dr auto with no problems. Any higher then yes, driveshaft angle could become an issue. Especially at full flex. But if i were you I'd call each company and get their opinion. Afterall, they engineered the kits! Then judge from there what you are comfortable with installing.

Maybe I'll PM the Teraflex rep on here and see what he has to say.
Out of curiosity, does anybody know the average lift height for the OME 2" or Rock Krawler Stock Mod? That would be interesting to know.

I'm not changing my front or rear bumper so have the Teraflex bb which is spacers instead of new coils and also bought lower control arms and their front monster track bar. Love the the stance and ride! Just my opinion.

Rockkrawler. Then you can upgrade all the way to the 5.5 long arm with coilovers, one step at a time, whenever she's ready to pay up again. Most RK lifts come with brake lines. Call jeremy at RK to discuss.
