Default Lift Recommendations

First off if anybody knows that a 3" lift will void my Rubicon's lifetime drivetrain warranty please speak up. In Oklahoma atm.

I'm looking at a Full Traction 3" Ultimate Lift (http://www.quadratec.com/products/16064_324X_PG.htm). I've been waiting to see the price an installation of a 3" from AEV but I can only roll stock for so long before wanting to make fun of myself. I've tossed the Install Manual for the FT 3" at my friend who's the "mechanic." He seems to be worried about heim joints being "brutally ridgid." Mentioned also "that kit is heim joints on the axle and probably stiff polyurethane on the chassis side."

I'm still learning about cars tbh and he's going to help me install the lift myself but I wanted to know if anybody else has the same worries. He seems to think at the worst we'd have to replace the heim joints in the lower control arms at some point.

If anybody has any suggestions or other lift recommendations I'd love to hear them.

I had a question about voiding my warranty for aftermarket items and was directed to the Moss Act which I was told would prevent the voidance of my warranty... Whether this works for the suspension or not, I am not sure, but it might be worth a little research....
Part of the act refers to SEMA parts....

AFAIK at a certain lift amount you must do work on the drivetrain itself to keep it from being damaged (which would void the warranty) by not making those changes its fairly easy for the Manu to argue that you didn't properly maintenance the item.

There is a point at which Chrysler has decided you can't go past and still allow the factory hardware to work. Now its not to say you can't sue them for warranty coverage past 3" referencing this law... but I'm sure they've chosen a limit they can defend quite easily in court . Not to mention, and I haven't checked, it may be listed in the warranty contract.

Anywho... more importantly what about the lift questions I plan on pow-wowing with my service department about the Warranty aspects before the purchase anyway.

The story on what will and will not cause warranty issue has been discused numerous times on the forum. The dealer that actually does the work will make the call. As the link from the last post will point out, the only items that can be denied are the items that are not the originals. Your warranty will be intack on everything else. So don't worry to much about it.

As far as the FT kit, many here have had good luck with it. It appears that at the moment there are some availability issues.

Your friend mentioned the urathane and the Heims, theses are real concerns and some on the forum have reported noise with the FT gear.

I decided to go with TeraFlex for a couple of reasons

1. They use Johny Joint style ends that are rebuildable and quite
2. They use OEM style bushings which are much quiter than the urathane
3. They are by far the most responsive sponsor on the forum, they are very active and seem to be there at a moments notice once someone posts.

I would recommend sending a PM to or giving Joe at TF a call, you can find him on the Vendor section of the forum. He can help you with some of your questions and there are a lot of new part numbers in the 3" lift sizes that you two can discuss. Most of these part numbes are new and don't appear on the aftermarket vendors web sites.

Which ever you decide on give Northridge 4X4 a call, another forum sponsor.

Best of luck
