Both types, flat and pocket provide extra coverage.

Xenon wider flat style

I'm sure there are more, should be able to get wider tube flares too.

I've been looking into this too. The Zenon and Pocket flares provide extra coverage, but the Flats are the same as stock. If Bushwacker offered a flat with extra coverage they have my sale.

The zenon is practically the same as bushwacker, but wider. I have seen both. Both are flat and give more gap in the wheel well. Zenon is definitely wider, but looks just like bushwackers. Also, bushwacker are a harder plastic, while zenon have more of a rubbery texture that has a little flex in it. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Yup, talking about how much the flare sticks outboard of the fender and if looking straight down covers the tire. Also the Zenons use nutcerts for installation. Zenons also have braces to prevent sag, and leave the wheel well exposed. If hit, may damage fender.

The Bushwacker Flats use stock mounting points, integrated wheel well coverage, tend to pop off of fender when hit instead of damaging fender. But are not as wide so do not cover wheels with 3.75" backspace.

Why I would buy the Bushwacker Flats if they were wider. I'm not comfortable with nutcerts. Not a fan of the Pockets.
