Default Lift choices and decisions...

so like the rest of the population here im wanting to lift my 13 JKU Rubicon. She sits stock with 18" MHT Revolvers and 33" Mickey T ATZs with MetalCloak overland fender flares right now. what im torn between doing is either a 2-3" leveling kit(springs) or a 4" long arm kit. i do like to go play in the mountains and mud but it is on the street a good bit so id like to have decent ride quality as well.future mods consist of poison spyder bumpers and side armor thats about it really.

as usual, thoughts recommendations, and opinions are always well and so are pictures.

this is what im down to for the spring kits.

BDS 2" spring kit

Teraflex 2.5" spring kit

BDS 3" spring kit

for the 4" kits
BDS 4" long arm kit

Rancho 4" long arm kit

We can't speak highly enough about the Rock Krawler kits!

The long arm will give you a better ride both on and offroad at the taller lift heights. Long arm kits will cost more to install or be more time consuming if you are doing it yourself. They will also require a fair amount of cutting and welding so keep that in mind.

Another thing to keep in mind is what else you will need when you to a taller lift so keep in that in mind when you are determining your budget.

If you would like to discuss any details feel free to PM us or send us an e-mail at sales@smashboogie4x4.com.

Good luck with your build and let us know how we can help!

I have the AEV 4.5 SC and love it...it is my dd so the on road is awesome and so far the off road has been great. I will admit i stick to light and med duty trails. But if thats all u want and on road is a priority check out AEV.

If not AEV then I have heard great things about rock krawler

do you plan on upgrading your tires? if you stick with your 33's i'd say no lift or basic leveling kit... if you want 35's i would get 2.5, if you want 37's id get 3.5+

my general advice on lifts is don't go cheap on the shocks... even if you want to stay with 33's you would be wise to drop $300 on bilstein 4600's... if you get a lift go 5100 or better shocks.

ive toyed with the thought of 35s ill admit it but thats still up in the air. as for shocks on well aware that thats 50% of the ride quality and i have a few different brands in mind. its jus with the lift i wanna do it one and do it right while, again, getting the most for the money, reliability, ride quality and if it needs to work its ready to go.

You can run a TeraFlex 2.5" -3" kit for those 35's or smaller. All of our kits come with a lifetime warranty that even includes TeraFlex shocks. Have you seen these videos? If you have any questions about our products, please give us a call.

I would argue shocks are > 50%.... I would rock coil spacers and bilsteins WAY before I would run nice coils and cheap shocks.
