Default Lift/Alignment Question

This may be a stupid question but I have to ask...

I installed a new front bumper, front skid plate and winch. I lost about an inch of height in front, no surprise there. So I decided to buy a 1" spacer from Teraflex (sadly I bought only one-waiting for the second ) and decided to ask the guys at the 4 wheel shop how much to install them. They said $174 which included an alignment.

Heres the question: How hard is to install these 1" pucks and do I really need an alignment?

With basic wrenching skills it's easy. And no alignment needed.

I had my local shop install mine since it was winter and I don't have a heated garage. 1 hour labour ($60) and no alignment necessary. And that was a 1.75" spacer!!

Yeah I am at that same point. I just ordered the parts and I'll do it myself. Kind of made me step back and think we he said I NEEDED an alignment. Figured he knew something I didn't.. But all the advice I have been given is that I dont need it. This is a gret forum!

Aligning your JK is very simple. You don't need a shop to do this or to install a spacer. You can do it with zero experience. There are many good write ups on how to do both here on the forums.

Thanks for the advice. I did the install myself and no alignment needed.

It was the easiest thing I've done all week! The front skid plate was more of a pain then that was..
